No Bull Hot Stone Massage Video
I saw this hot stone massage video today and I got really upset on how complicated some people really make this simple therapy. I use them for the last 15 years, because you can increase the flow of chi in a chronic (cold) area, where there is not enough chi. But you can also just use a hot water bottle.
What really tipped me off was that the lady said, that the massage therapist can ruin his hands when the water of the rocks is too hot. Duh, what about the client. It's simple: If you need a ladle to get the rocks out of the water, don't think about putting it on a client. This just makes me want to scream.
Anyway, that's why I put together this little video about Hot rocks massage, because it it is a very straight forward application and I feel that people just want to make it more mysterious than it actually is. That's why in many places people charge you twice as much for a hot stone massage than for a regular massage, even though the therapist is only doing half the work.
Clever, right? But that doesn't mean that hot stones are not great. They are, especially in connection with meridian treatment and other chi based massage therapies. But let's start with the basics first:

Deep Tissue Massage Video
Deep Tissue Massage Video shows the basic misconception of this massage style, which is that it is done by using force. First motto is to do no harm, so why would you want to damage tissue in order to heal. Doesn't make sense, does it? But millions of therapists are pushing so hard that their clients eyeballs are popping out, all in the name of therapy. Watch this important video to really understand how deep tissue massage works.
You see it is true that deep tissue massage means to treat the deeper layers of tissue in the body, but it is most important on how you get in there. Consider this when you massage, get massage or learn deep tissue massage.

Proper Draping for Massage
Proper Draping for Massage is very important. In this video I want to show you the basic principles of draping.
Mark Beck writes in his book "The Theory and Practice of Therapeutic Massage" (one of the standard books of massage - that I have used for many years)
"This procedure (draping) allows for the client to be totally undressed and at the same time retain comfort, warmth and modesty."
"By using proper draping and only uncovering the portion of the body that is being massaged and, by always concealing the client's personal parts, the practitioner maintains a professional and ethical practice while preventing embarassment to either the practitioner or the client."
"There are several methods of draping."
If you are interested in Mark Beck's great standard massage book, you can get it at Amazon.com.
