If a massage table is frequently used, there is some wear and tear happening and a massage table should be regularly inspected to see if there is everything in good condition.

I've done a lot of massage outdoors, sometimes close to the ocean. There is a lot of wear and tear on a massage table in an environment like that. You need to check cables, bold, hinges, you have to deal with mold etc.

I know in a lot of areas in this world this does not apply, but I just want to stress the importance of the maintenance of a massage table. A good massage table will only stay a good massage table if you take good care of it.

Even though you sometimes get the better deals on the internet, I recommend that you go to a local massage supply store and check the different models out. It is good to test them, lie on them and carry them around. I even used to ask the salesperson to lie down on the table and I would try a few massage techniques.

All I say is that a massage table is your best friend, if you make the right choice, but it can be a drag, if you didn't pick the right one for.

PS: I just want to add that the comfort of the client is very important. I used to have a European massage table. It was basically like a yoga mat with legs. Most of my clients never said anything, but one lady told me at some point that I don't have to bring my table anymore, because she got herself one. I was an American model, much more cushy, especially the face rest. I tried it out myself and I didn't blame her for not wanting to go with the Spartan model.
