Weight Loss Massage Video
Many of my clients have asked me if Weight Loss Massage is really possible.
The answer is definitely "yes" but perhaps not in the same way that you might expect.
Let me first tell you a funny story. A fellow student once asked my old Chinese massage teacher if one could lose weight with massage. He smiled and answered, "Certainly, but it's not the client, it is the massage therapist who loses the weight!" It seems logical, since the massage therapist is the one who is doing the physical work and all the sweating! I certainly remember working in the hot steamy environment of a health spa.
Loosing weight means more calories out than in. So, you need to burn more calories than you eat to shed some pounds. But receiving a massage only marginally increases a client's metabolism therefore it will not be possible for a person to lose weight via massage alone.
I always encourage my client's to learn more about the basics of metabolism and weight loss and advice them to visit the free resource "Manage Weight Loss Review", which is not just a great source for healthy food and lifestyle, but also covers topics like overall health and sense of well-being related to weight loss, relationships, diet, exercises, nutrition, vitamins, prevention, and more.
To be honest, the massage therapist might burn some extra calories, but the bottom line is that this weight loss is temporary and mostly water, (It's similar to losing weight in the sauna). Plus, I have seen too many fat massage therapists throughout my career!
However, I still insist that weight loss massage is possible. It is not so much a specific technique, but an important tool to support weight loss. There is not just one single thing that I have seen that will make weight loss happen on its own – no diet pill, no exercise program, no surgery and of course no massage therapy.
But massage is equally as important as diet, exercise and supplements for a successful weight loss program and it is very unfortunate that massage is often times neglected.
This is especially so for those who tend to overeat due to tension and emotional stress. Massage can be very useful in resolving the stress and emotional issues that people tend to struggle with.
